Pigtails, Tight or Semi-Tight Buffer, Factory Terminated & Tested
Daro Connectivity provides a range of fibre optic pigtails for single mode and multi-mode applications. Available with tight or semi-tight buffer optical fibre, a wide range of connectors and fibre colours to suit specific customer and application driven requirements.
We can provide pigtails terminated with FC, ST, SC, E-2000® connectors using a 2.5mm ferrule and LC small form factor (SFF), CS®, SN®, MDC® very small form factor VSFF) connectivity which use 1.25mm ferrules. Alongside ferrule end-face preparations including physical contact (PC), ultra-physical contact (UPC) and angled physical contact (APC) to provide a very wide range supporting many applications.
As well as supporting a wide range of connectors Daro Connectivity can also still support legacy fibre types like 62.5/125 (OM1) or 50/125 (OM2) which may have been installed some time ago but which have not yet been upgraded yet enabling on-site or sub-contract cabling technicians to maintain legacy fibred networks.
Our fibre optic pigtails are manufactured using secondary coated 900 micron semi-tight buffer optical fibre and can used in patch panels and wall enclosures for splicing onto inside and outside plant fibre optic cables.
Pigtails can also be made from low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) jacketed cable for splice through requirements.
All pigtails are a factory-based assembly; machined polished, visually inspected and optically tested using standards based test methods to ensure repeatable high performance, intermateability and durability.
Performance can be tailored to best match the application, so, if you have criteria for very tight optical loss budget requirements you may require assemblies which utilise tuned connectors (grades C or B) whereas other applications may be better suited to utilising one-piece connectors to obtain the relevant insertion (IL) and return loss (RL) values.
- Single mode fibre is ITU-T.G.657.A1 as standard, low water peak ITU-T.G.652.D also available
- Standard fibre colours are; yellow for single mode, orange for multi-mode 62/125 (OM1) and multi-mode 50/125 (OM2), aqua for laser optimised multi-mode 50/125 (OM3) and heather violet for laser optimised 50/125 (OM4) and lime green for wideband multi-mode (WBMMF) 50/125 (OM5)
- Coloured pigtail sets available
- Performance grades C and B available for single mode pigtails defined and in accordance with IEC 61755-1 standard
