Optotec Multi-Operator Compact Access (MOCA) Enclosure

Daro Connectivity is an authorised distributor of Optotec’s FOCUS ROE 48 multi-operator distribution fibre optic enclosures for customer premise installations. Environmentally sealed, utilising a modular cassette management system enabling cable-to-pigtail splicing and can also accommodate PLC splitters. Thanks to the innovative design these enclosures can easily be stacked.

The FOCUS ROE 48 multi-operator distribution enclosure is deployed in an inside plant environment, typically for multi-dwelling unit (MDU) applications. This solution allows multiple service providers to provide connection to customers within an MDU through the utilisation of shared riser cable fibres. The splicing area is kept separate from the customer connection patching field via lockable hinged access doors.

Basic installation requires a ROE 48 enclosure for the service provider and for the customer. The service provider terminates their outside plant cable within their designated ROE 48 enclosure. The MDU buildings riser cable is terminated within the designated ROE 48 customer enclosure. On service take-up the customer is connected to the relevant service providers external network via a cross-connect patch-cable between the service provider and customer ROE 48 enclosures.

Fibre splicing and management is undertaken with Optotec’s FOCUS SAM (splice array modules) system which introduce various splicing densities and functionality for single fibre, multi-fibre heat-shrink or crimp style splice protection.
